Welcome to Newport Coast

A picturesque oasis of scenic nature in Orange County

A gem of Orange County, Newport Coast is an upscale community known as the “Pacifica Rivera,” or “where nature’s palette is at work.” It certainly seems so when you soak in the gorgeous natural surroundings Newport Coast is privy to. An upscale, charming neighborhood in Newport Beach, the area appeals to families and retirees seeking reprieve from the glitzy hubbub of Newport Beach’s busier, more downtown districts.

South of Newport Beach’s main body, Newport Coast wasn’t annexed by its counterpart until 2001, resulting in the community maintaining an attractive sense of self, supported by its natural beauty, luxurious surroundings, and community-forward residents. Located on the eastern edge of the coast, Newport Coast has it all — beachfront, friendly neighbors, a close-knit community, and high-end dining and restaurant options.

The area is known for its charismatic atmosphere, helped in no small part by the architecture present throughout. The small city is dotted throughout by attractive homes in Santa Barbara, prairie, modern, and other styles, including some beach cottages and luxurious condominiums. Placing emphasis on some vintage houses and stately homes, Newport Coast is picture-perfect, no matter if you’re facing the residential area or the crashing waves.

Whether your goal is relaxing by the beach, getting the heart rate up with some waterfront activities, sprucing up the wardrobe at one of Newport Coast’s premier shopping destinations, or getting involved with your community, it’s all made possible here, despite the seemingly small footprint of the neighborhood. With just over 6,000 residents, Newport Coast could be overlooked, but its charm makes that nearly impossible. Families and retirees alike are drawn to Newport Coast for its natural vistas, great opportunities, and neighborly way of life.

Dining, Shopping, and Entertainment

Newport Coast is brimming with excitement and quiet vibrancy everywhere you turn. Full of luxury shopping and fine dining options, plus more casual eateries and boutiques, the area is built to please.

Classic entrees meet old-school charm at Mastro’s Ocean Club, a restaurant that offers steak and seafood bursting with flavor. Complete with an extensive list of tequila’s, fine dining takes on a whole new meaning at Javier’s Restaurant, where authentic Mexican cuisine is paired with Newport Coast’s balmy weather.

What’s better than a scrumptious seaside restaurant? One that's literally on the beach! The Beachcomber is a California Coast classic, offering top-tier cuisine and a fun, natural atmosphere under a sun-soaked sky. Meanwhile, the interior waterfall-inspired design of Bluefin, an authentic and creative restaurant serving Japanese sushi, is sure to impress.

Things to Do

From the gorgeous breaking waves to the involved community, Newport Coast takes its activity seriously and with a smile. With there always being something to do or someplace to be, the area is perfect for a quiet excursion into nature or a fun afternoon filled with adventure.

Crystal Cove State Park and Beach is one of California’s — if not the nation’s — best public beachfront parks. One of the largest remaining parks in Orange County, the spacious expanse of natural views is perfect for glimpsing sea otters, wading in a tide pool, and spending time with loved ones in one of nature’s greatest backdrops. Extend the fun by booking one of the cute Crystal Cove Beach Cottages, the perfect way to plan a staycation.

El Moro Canyon Hiking Trail is an incredible way to surround yourself with the splendor of nature that Newport Coast has to offer. A loop trail flawlessly poised to round out a day enjoying the outdoors, the only way to improve the experience is by setting up camp at one of Moro’s excellent campgrounds!
